Originally founded as Genesee Coal & Stoker in 1929, when coal was the primary source of residential heat in Seattle, Genesee Energy is a third-generation, family-run business committed to innovation.

Established in 1929 by the Clark brothers, we are now a third generation Clark family business. Until the mid-1940s, the company name was Genesee Coal & Stoker, as coal was the primary source of residential heat in Seattle. Genesee Energy is now proudly delivering the highest quality renewable, lower carbon Bioheat and propane. Our roots in the Seattle area run deep; as we’re proud to have a long list of loyal customers who have been with us since the early years.
