New To Propane?

September 28, 2012

If you've just moved into a new home with a propane tank, here are a few steps to follow.1. Inspect the tank gauge to determine how much propane is in the tank. The gauge is usually located under the lid and will show the percentage remaining.2. Determine if the tank is customer owned or leased. If the tank is leased, it will have a the leasing company logo prominently displayed. It should also have a smaller sticker with a phone number and a message for other propane companies not to fill. 3. You have a choice. Just because there is a leased tank at your new house does not mean you are obligated to sign up with that company. Take some time to determine who offers the best array of services and who will best meet your needs. 4. Be available. At the time of your first propane delivery, you will need to allow access to your house for a safety inspection. This is usually a free service and is certainly in your best interest.Propane is a versatile, clean and efficient way to heat and cook. You will also find that dealing with a friendly, local company is a good experience.
